Classroom Support – Ashington (North East)
Pay: £110–£130 per day | Start: ASAP | Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Ever been called “the calm one” in a busy room? You might just be who this lovely Northumberland school is looking for.
We’re after a confident, reliable person to keep lessons on track and pupils engaged when the teacher’s away. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher—just someone who’s organised, good with young people, and happy taking the lead when needed.
A day in the role:
1. Guiding pupils through set work and keeping them focused
2. Building positive relationships across different year groups
3. Keeping classrooms calm, safe, and ready to learn
4. Working with teaching staff to make sure everything runs smoothly
You’ll be great for this if you:
5. Have experience working with children or teenagers (schools, youth work, coaching, etc.)
6. Stay calm under pressure and bring a sense of fun and fairness to the room
7. Can think on your feet and handle the unexpected with a smile
8. Are confident speaking in front of groups and giving clear direction
