SEMH Qualified Teacher needed in West Bromwich (Full or Part Time)
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join our team in West Bromwich, supporting children and young people aged 11 to 16 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and related behavioural needs, from ages 11 to 16.
Position: SEND Qualified Teacher
Location: West Bromwich
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible options available)
Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement
About the Role:
As a SEMH Teacher, you will be working in a supportive and inclusive environment, delivering tailored lessons to students with autism and a variety of SEMH needs, including challenging behaviours, anxiety, mental disorders. You'll be responsible for creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring each student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What We're Looking For:
* A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and SEMH experience
* Expertise in teaching students with SEND, across different age groups (11-16 years)
* Ability to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students
* Strong classroom management and the ability to work with small groups and one-to-one
* Passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with SEND
Desirable (but not essential):
* SEND-specific qualifications (e.g. PGCE in SEND, Level 5/7 in Special Education Needs)
* Experience working with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
* Knowledge of de-escalation strategies including MAPA, CPI & PMVA
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
