We are working with a fantastic special educational needs school in the Loughborough area to find experienced, enthusiastic, and naturally caring teaching assistants.
When working with children with special educational needs, you need to be patient, highly understanding, and extremely caring towards the students to give them the best possible educational journey, as every student deserves.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, these are some of the special educational needs you may come across in the schools we work with:
* ASD (Autism)
* ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
* SLD (Severe learning difficulties)
* SEMH (Social, emotional mental health)
To be a successful SEND Teaching Assistant, you will need:
* Sensitivity and understanding
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* Active listening skills
* The ability to look after children's physical, social, and emotional welfare
* Flexibility and openness to change
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* The ability to adapt teaching support according to students' needs
Other essential requirements include:
* Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage, but we can apply for one for you if needed
* Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
* Professional reference checks
* CV must cover the last 5 years of employment history where possible
* Legal right to work in the UK
