Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking to take ownership of core financial processes and play a pivotal role within a growing, collaborative finance team?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic FMCG environment where you will support strategic decision-making, lead key reporting cycles, and ensure the business maintains a robust and reliable financial position.
The Role - What You'll Be Doing
In this hands-on and influential role, you will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of financial reporting and controls across the business.
Key duties include:
Month-End & Reporting
1. Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
2. Oversee key month-end tasks including sales, cost of goods, stock, accruals, and volume/price/mix analysis
3. Produce accurate management accounts and reporting packs
Forecasting & Analysis
4. Lead the perpetual forecasting process, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs
5. Maintain and update ongoing cashflow forecasts, proactively highlighting potential issues
6. Review P&Ls for promotions, new business, NPD and annual customer terms
Systems & Audit
7. Maintain the accounting system (SAGE X3), ensuring smooth month-end and year-end processes
8. Lead the year-end audit, ensuring all information is prepared, accurate, and delivered on time
9. Drive continuous improvement across financial controls and reporting
Team Leadership & Business Support
10. Line-manage, mentor and support a Finance Assistant
11. Partner with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions
12. Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Director across strategic and operational initiatives
About You - Key Requirements
Essential Skills & Knowledge
13. Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP
14. Excellent analytical, numerical and forecasting abilities
15. High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail
16. Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders
17. Strong presentation skills and ability to challenge constructively
18. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
19. Hands-on team player, comfortable working in a small, collaborative finance function
20. Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Experience
21. Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with strong practical experience
22. Proven experience producing monthly management accounts and reporting packs
23. Solid background in budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking
24. Experience leading or supporting year-end audits
25. Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, Power Query)
26. Experience using BI tools (desirable)
27. Proven ability to influence at senior level
