Pastoral Support Assistant – Syon Manor College, Isleworth, London, TW7 5AJ
Location: Syon Manor College, Isleworth, London. Salary: Up to £23,500 per annum (not pro rata). Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only. Start Date: September/October 2025. As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a Pastoral Support Assistant role within a specialist post-16 provision for young people with Autism and complex needs.
About The Role
In this vital role, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide high-quality support for students, ensuring they are able to access learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. You’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to helping every learner thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Support subject teachers and tutors to deliver outstanding educational experiences for all students
* Help implement education policies and procedures to ensure consistency and best practice
* Provide individual or group support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum as independently as possible
* Promote students\' physical, emotional, and educational development in line with company policies
* Assist with the organisation of classroom spaces, learning resources, and student groupings to support a stimulating learning environment
* Use, store, and maintain equipment responsibly, reporting any issues promptly
* Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
What We're Looking For
* Experience supporting students with Autism and/or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour
* A proactive, empathetic, and student-focused approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
About Us
Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications. Options Autism provides care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. Outcomes First Group leads the sector in setting and delivering new approaches with measurable outcomes. In 2024, Outcomes First Group was certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the fifth year running.
