Key Stage 2 – Intervention support

We’re working with a welcoming, supportive primary schools in the Tameside area who are looking to appoint a dedicated intervention support assistant to support learning across Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, skilled individual to join supportive teams and play a vital role in the classroom. The role has arisen as schools are thinking ahead and want to address gaps in learning within Year 4 for the Multiplication Tables Check, support preparation for Year 6 summative assessments and cover staff absences.
Location: Tameside
Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am-3.45pm (Temporary opportunity)
Salary: £90-£120 per day
Start date: Monday 3rd November 2025
Key Responsibilities:
* Fast-paced position, moving from class to class during the school day
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons to whole classes in the absence of the teacher
* Support teaching and learning across KS2, working with small groups and 1:1 to raise attainment, particularly within reading, maths and SPaG
* Assisting in the preparation of high quality and effective learning materials
* Provide feedback to pupils and contribute to assessment
* Support the inclusion of pupils with SEND, EAL and varying abilities
Qualifications:
* Relevant qualification in education – TA or QTS
* Experience working with primary school children in KS2
* Strong behaviour management, classroom organisation skills and confidence to deliver high quality, engaging lessons
* A flexible, proactive, and positive attitude
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
