GSL Education are seeking passionate and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support schools across Hull.
About the Role:
As a HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver planned lessons, provide targeted support to pupils, and lead small group or whole-class activities when required. This role is perfect for those with proven classroom experience who are eager to contribute to pupils’ progress and wellbeing.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Responsibilities:
* Deliver lessons and cover classes in the absence of the teacher, using prepared materials.
* Support pupils’ learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
* Provide one-to-one or small group interventions to raise attainment.
* Assist teachers in planning, assessing, and delivering engaging lessons.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular or pastoral support.
Requirements for Higher Level Teaching Assistant:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent Level 4/degree-level qualification.
* Previous experience supporting pupils in EYFS, KS1, or KS2.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Ability to adapt to different year groups and settings.
* A genuine passion for supporting the progress and wellbeing of young learners.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
