Overview
Avionics Data Architecture Degree Apprenticeship at Airbus Defence and Space. Start date: September 2026. Location: Airbus Defence & Space Stevenage. Duration: 4 years. University: University of West London. Degree: BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineering).
What you will be doing
You will be working on cutting edge space programmes for customers such as the European Space Agency within the Avionics Delivery & Data Architecture group at Stevenage. This technical role will involve development, testing and delivery of data processes and software solutions for spacecraft engineering data management. As an Avionics Data Architecture Degree Apprentice, you will gain experience across development, test, delivery and use of data processes and software solutions within spacecraft development and testing across multiple space programmes. The tasks will be varied and will require you to develop and use different skills (technical, project management, communication, etc.) to complete them successfully. You will support and eventually initiate activities within the team, gaining experience end-to-end—from developing, testing and managing engineering data processes to analysing use cases and prototyping data and software solutions up to final test, delivery, install and post-delivery support. We are a diverse and inclusive team that values different ways of thinking and working to achieve technical solutions. This role requires awareness of potential ethical compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity as the foundation for the company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth. During the first year, you will attend a week of Team Building Activities and Exercises at one of the Outward-Bound UK sites, working in teams with other Airbus Defence and Space apprentices on activities such as rock climbing, hiking, abseiling and canoeing.
