Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Permanent) Key Responsibilities: Conduct maintenance and servicing of mechanical systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), pump seals, bearings, and alignment. Participate in an on-call rota and work within a seasonal shift pattern, which may include weekends and evenings. Prioritize tasks to meet business requirements, ensuring all maintenance work is completed to a high standard. Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems. Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and safely. Provide technical support for building plant and equipment. Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental procedures. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work. Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position. Knowledge and Skills: Engineering/Technical Qualification: Essential (e.g., Apprenticeship or NVQ level 3 in mechanical/plumbing/HVAC disciplines). Experience in Building Services: Essential. Mechanical Servicing/Maintenance Competency: Essential, particularly in AHU, FCU, pump seals, bearings, and alignment. Proficiency in Other Building Services Disciplines: Essential, including Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical. Driving Licence: Essential, must be full and clean. Report Writing: Ability to complete reports and job sheets manually or electronically.
