Liaise with clients, attend site visits, and carry out detailed site surveys. Prepare quotations with strong commercial awareness, ensuring value for money. Provide mechanical design input to meet project requirements, time-lines, and quality standards. Act as a project engineer when required, managing design, procurement, and site liaison. Create cost estimates, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications. Select appropriate machines and tooling for cost-effective part manufacture. Raise purchase orders and manage procurement of project parts. Ensure adherence to quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement. Transfer knowledge of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office to team members where required. Essential Skills Strong SolidWorks and AutoCAD design capability. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to manage and prioritise own workload effectively. Highly organised, methodical, and detail-oriented. Commercial awareness with the ability to prepare accurate quotations. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Confident liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Good knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable Skills Experience acting as a project engineer with full responsibility for work packages. Previous exposure to material handling design, including platforms, barriers, cages, and stairs. Experience working to tight deadlines within a fast-paced engineering environment.
