Project Support Officer / Project Manager Rate: £500 p/d inside IR35 Start - ASAP Duration : - 31 st March 2026 - 1 month initially - potential for 6-9 months Location: Hybrid Engagement: Full-time Overview Delivery Groups (DGs) were introduced in May 2025 as part of the DDTS Target Operating Model, bringing together digital, policy, and operational delivery to improve outcomes and streamline change delivery. As DGs continue through their design and build phase, an experienced PSO/ PM is required to support the Delivery Centre in establishing robust governance, delivery assurance, and operational structure. The role will provide critical stability and coordination during a period of organisational change and evolving delivery processes. Role Purpose The Project Support Officer will enable effective delivery across portfolios, programmes, and projects by applying structured project management disciplines, maintaining governance controls, and supporting business management activities. The role will ensure consistent reporting, documentation, and operational support to facilitate informed decision-making and effective delivery execution. Key Responsibilities Support the establishment and maintenance of portfolio, programme, and project management processes, standards, and governance. Assist with project and programme initiation activities, including business case development and lifecycle management. Maintain delivery plans, schedules, and tracking mechanisms using approved project control tools. Produce and maintain accurate reporting on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and exceptions. Establish and maintain structured document and information management practices. Provide operational support to Delivery Centre and strategic roadmap teams. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and governance boards, including preparation of materials and recording of actions and outcomes. Support supplier engagement activities, including Statements of Work processing. Manage interim demand processes and delivery coordination. Support financial tracking, reporting, and oversight across DG initiatives. Provide guidance on project management tools, templates, and best practice standards. Essential Experience Demonstrable experience operating in a PMO / Project Support / Delivery Support capacity within complex delivery environments. Experience supporting portfolio or multi-project delivery within structured governance frameworks. Strong understanding of project controls, reporting, risk and issue management, and financial tracking. Experience supporting organisational change or transformation programmes. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Desirable Experience Experience within public sector digital delivery environments. Apply today for immediate consideration
