As a Programme Lead you will have the necessary authority, accountability (including budget control), and freedom to deliver an agreed group of projects whilst ensuring that they meet schedule, specification and business case requirements dependent on the stage of the programme. The Defence Strategic Operations team is accountable for the development and execution of the footprint and capability strategy for Manufacturing, Assembly and Test activities both on site in Bristol and for our deployed activities. The Programme Lead role is the ideal opportunity for an individual looking to kick start or progress their Project Management capability within an environment that operates under the APM Model. What you will be doing: You will focus on developing solutions to manufacturing, assembly and test issues where we don't currently have capacity nor capability to support our customers or can achieve a better result doing the activity differently, through: Effective delivery of self-contained projects or aspects of programme or project portfolios, being given the accountability for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work. Collaborate with a range of functions and areas of the business to identify and secure the resources to successfully execute the project, organising and chairing regular reviews and maintaining a suitable cadence Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the package of work and act as the focal point for all aspects related to the packages of work. Ensure the creation and management of an integrated set of plans / schedules. Report the status to relevant stakeholders and senior leaders in the organisation and manage any variances of projects / portfolios in accordance with the requirements of the project Support the monitoring of the benefits realisation through the Project deliverables including management of risk and treatment options providing information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information with individuals at all levels within the organisation. Good stakeholder management and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Project Management background preferable, with an AMP Qualification or equivalent Knowledge and/ or experience of requirements definition, bidding, estimating, proposing, negotiating, resource planning, earned value The ability to achieve full UK Security Clearance may be required this role.
