Offer description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Podiatrist to join our dynamic team, working across both our specialist Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) Clinic and our vascular ward. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with our Lead Podiatrist on inpatient care, while contributing your expertise to our twice-daily multidisciplinary DFU clinics. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and elevate inpatient podiatry services, driving best practice and delivering outstanding care to a high-risk patient group. While our Lead Podiatrist also works across the emergency care quadrant, this role will focus on inpatient and DFU clinic work, helping to further enhance our service.

Our team is welcoming and deeply engaged in diabetic foot ulcer and vascular multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and clinics. We prioritise professional growth and are committed to delivering exceptional care, consistently working to the full scope of our roles. This position presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to shape a new and dynamic role in Podiatry, while promoting best practices and ensuring high-quality care for our patients.

To be part of a highly motivated team, you should have at least five years NHS post-registration experience, working independently in both community and acute settings, delivering highly specialist seamless podiatric care to individuals and groups; supporting management of complex cases and promoting empowerment of individuals to self‑manage their conditions. You will provide inpatient podiatry provision to patients with foot problems; clinically support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice, acting as a source of expertise. You will be expected to demonstrate specialist knowledge and a high level of personal skill and be responsible for the training, supervision and performance assessment of staff. You will need a sound theoretical knowledge base and be able to demonstrate evidence-based practice.

Working for our organisation, if you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales has all the right ingredients. The largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000 across North Wales, offers a supportive environment in line with our Organisational Values and the 'Proud to Lead' competence framework. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and are proud to welcome applicants under the "Disability Confident Employer" scheme.
