Associate – 2PQE Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

Hours: Full-time, 9:30am – 5.30pm

Department: Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence


The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team handling varied and high-quality work. We are seeking a highly motivated, professional candidate with excellent academics and sound experience in clinical negligence who can demonstrate commercial awareness and a history of maintaining good client relationships.

The ideal candidate will be confident and enthusiastic and will be able to demonstrate experience of a wide range of Claimant injury litigation work. They will be able to demonstrate an energetic commitment to contributing to the success of the team.


What you’re like

* educated to degree level and preferably with a 2:1 or above
* a solicitor of 2 years PQE
* you are a highly motivated and professional
* you are quick thinking and a fast learner
* you have broad experience in Claimant litigation work
* you have experience of running a caseload of your own
* you work and think independently
* you will be able to look after our existing clients and win new work
* you want to develop your career
* you can demonstrate commercial awareness
* you are technically excellent
* you have keen attention to detail

* the team is based in our Putney office comprising of 4 partners, 2 consultants, 3 senior associates, 5 associates,5 legal assistants, an executive assistant and anadministrative assistant.

Core Legal Duties

* to provide a high quality legal service to all Russell-Cooke clients
* to provide a high quality experience to our clients in terms of service delivery
* to develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of your colleagues
* to establish what needs to be done to solve a client’s problems
* to offer advice on the law, legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues
* to attend and represent Russell-Cooke at client meetings and conferences
* to represent clients in Courts where required


Professional Standards

* to work and behave in a professional manner and to the highest standards of the profession
* to comply with procedures set out in Russell-Cooke’s Office Manual, professional standards and any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
* to carry out duties given by the partners or employees faithfully and diligently and follow all reasonable instructions
* to participate in the growth and development of the department / firm
* to treat all information about the firm and its client and their business as wholly confidential
* to keep up-to-date with changes in the law
* to record all chargeable hours
