A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer in ANY profession to serve as the Squadron Warrant Officer of No 501 Squadron RAuxAF at RAF Brize Norton on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCOS) with an initial proposed start date of 01 April 2026 or earlier / later subject to candidates status.
In accordance with AP3392 Vol 7 Part 2 Chap 6 Sec 7 the post is also open for applicants to apply on alternative TCOS including ADC PTVR or VeRR. Applicants are requested to make their TCOS preference clear in their application covering letter for review during the selection process. Applicants for alternative TCOS should state how the role could be delivered on their preferred TCOS for consideration by the selection board.
This post is responsible to OC 501 Squadron for the discipline and personal standards on the Squadron as well as other key outputs listed below.
Specific responsibilities of the Sqn WO include :
a. Ensure Sqn standards and discipline are maintained at all times.
b. Act as the Sqn Welfare Officer and lead on all welfare activity including management of the monthly Sqn Personal Support meeting.
c. Carry out the duties of the Unit Information Officer including the role of Information Asset custodian Sqn SharePoint manager Defence Connect administrator and Sqn coordinator for Super Users.
d. Undertake the staffing of all establishment amendments / variations and oversee the Sqn Unit Position List (UPL) in conjunction with SNCO HR.
e. Lead on the professional development of all Sqn personnel through the planning and execution of the Sqns Through Life Development (TLD) programme.
