The Patisserie department are responsible for the creation of all Piglet Pantry's produce for sale to both clients and e-commerce customers. The team have a responsibility to ensure the production of all food is of the correct legal standards and within health and safety compliance.
The Patisserie team are responsible for ensuring all products are labelled correctly and end up in the right place.
The Patisserie Assistant supports the Assistant Head and Head of Patisserie and works within the Patisserie team. This role is responsible for ensuring that products for B2C clients are labelled correctly, paperwork completed and ready for dispatch.
Principal Responsibilities/Duties
* Supporting in the production of cakes, pastries, and biscuits as required.
* Following approved recipes.
* Keeping consistency within designs and decoration of products.
* Working with the team and offering suggestions with the design of bespoke products and seasonal ranges.
* Cleaning of working areas and maintaining a good standard of hygiene.
* Complete logs and reports including temperature checks where applicable.
* Follow all relevant regulations and safety standards.
* Assisting with any other kitchen tasks as required.
* Able to work unsupervised when required.
Essential Skills
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Time management skills to be able to ensure cakes, pastries, and biscuits are be finished ready for boxing.
* Highly organised and able to multitask.
* Can work methodically and independently to ensure 100% accuracy.
* Be able to plan and prioritise paperwork to meet deadlines.
* Have previously worked in a food production environment and have an understanding around food safety.
* Be capable of following a process and recipe.
Desirable Skills
* Have obtained food safety standards certifications, level 2 or above.
* Have working knowledge of HACCP.
* Have an understanding or temperature abuse standards.
* Have previous experience within a patisserie environment.
