Job Title: Permit and Compliance Manager\n Contract Type: Temporary Contract (3-6 months, with potential for extension)\n Location: NHS Hospital - South East London\n Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week\n Rate: Competitive day/hourly rate (depending on experience)\n Start Date: ASAP\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Permit and Compliance Manager to support our FM operations at a busy NHS hospital in South East London. Working as part of the onsite facilities team, you will ensure that all contractor works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations and hospital policies.\n\nThis is a critical role in supporting the delivery of safe and compliant services across a live hospital environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for Permit to Work (PTW) processes, ensuring all permits are issued, monitored, and closed out in line with compliance standards.\n\nOversee and manage contractor access and activities, ensuring safety documentation is provided and reviewed prior to work commencement.\n\nMaintain up-to-date records of permits, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and associated documentation.\n\nEnsure all work complies with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda), NHS Estates guidelines, and relevant statutory legislation.\n\nConduct site audits and inspections to assess compliance with permit requirements and FM operational standards.\n\nLiaise with hospital estates, clinical teams, and contractors to minimise disruption to hospital operations.\n\nSupport internal and external audits by providing documentation and demonstrating compliance processes.\n\nAssist with compliance reporting, tracking remedial actions, and ensuring closure of any non-conformances.\n\nCollaborate with Health & Safety teams to promote a culture of safety and compliance across the site.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nProven experience managing Permit to Work systems and compliance in a healthcare, NHS, or similar high-risk environment.\n\nStrong knowledge of HTM/HBN guidance, CDM Regulations, and statutory building services compliance.\n\nNEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (desirable).\n\nExcellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.\n\nExperience in a facilities management, estates, or engineering support role (essential).\n\nWorking knowledge of CAFM systems and permit management platforms (e.g. Concept, Planet FM, or similar).\n\nLON123
