Work on the UK Power Networks and SSEN contracts in Hertfordshire and surrounding counties as part of the Substation Build Team. Deliver capital programme works on UKPN’s and SSEN’s 11kV to 132kV distribution network, including refurbishing and building new switchhouses and transformer enclosures.
Responsibilities
* Plan and carry out electrical work, customer connections, and network reinforcement.
* Install and maintain high‑voltage equipment, control & protection gear, earthing systems, bus bars, disconnectors, and switchgear.
* Interpret electrical schematics, manuals, asset standards, and technical documents to assist installation and corrective maintenance tasks.
* Conduct fault‑finding on low and high voltage equipment.
* Supervise the movement of long objects within open bar compounds.
* Install and terminate multicores, ladder & tray work, conduit and trucking installations, and control and SCADA systems.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completion of an approved apprenticeship.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations training certification.
* Full driver’s licence.
* Experience in industrial electrical & control system asset installation.
