Quality Control Inspector An established engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join its Quality team, reporting to the QC Manager. This is a hands-on role within a dynamic workshop environment, focused on ensuring incoming materials and finished components meet defined quality, safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Incoming & In-Process Inspection: Inspect incoming products for consistency, integrity and compliance with specifications. Carry out dimensional inspections against engineering drawings using standard measuring equipment (e.g. tape measure, callipers). Perform electrical resistance testing, coating thickness checks, PMI and visual inspections. Review material certificates and works test reports to ensure full traceability and compliance. Quality Records & Reporting: Produce clear, accurate inspection records in both hard and electronic formats. Process inspection data and maintain quality documentation in line with company procedures. Raise, communicate and support corrective action reports with external suppliers when required. Spares & Dispatch Support: Inspect spare parts orders, verifying parts against purchase orders and specifications. Complete visual and electrical testing prior to release to the dispatch team. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with engineers, production supervisors and workshop staff to resolve quality issues. Communicate material and inspection issues to projects, production planning and dispatch teams to avoid delays. Quality Systems & Compliance: Work in accordance with Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and internal policies, including ISO 9001. Support continuous improvement within the Quality Control function. General Duties: Assist with training and support of new or trainee staff as required. Undertake additional reasonable duties in support of the Quality Control team and wider business. Essential Skills & Experience Strong understanding and practical use of standard measuring equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. High attention to detail with a methodical, systematic approach to work. Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills. Good computer literacy and record-keeping skills. Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to use initiative. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment. Desirable Experience Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role (minimum 1 year preferred). Exposure to inspection of electrical and/or mechanical products. Experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Pharmaceutical environments. Awareness of relevant standards, such as IEC 61439 and ATEX-related standards. What’s on Offer Full internal training and development provided.
