Overview
Agricultural & Rural Sales Advisor (Maternity Cover) at Carrs Billington Agriculture (Sales) Ltd. Based at the Carlisle Country Store. This role supports the day-to-day running of the store, delivering excellent service to customers, and driving sales while upholding the company’s standards and brand values. This maternity cover position works as part of an established team within the Rural and Agricultural sector.
Responsibilities
* Sales & Customer Engagement: Proactively promote and sell a wide range of products in-store and by phone, focusing on profitability and meeting customer needs.
* Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding service by understanding requirements, offering practical advice, and delivering effective solutions.
* Operational Support: Assist with loading customer orders and manual handling tasks, working safely and within capability.
* Flexible Team Support: Help ensure smooth branch operations and support other areas (e.g., warehouse or deliveries) as needed.
* Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Store Presentation & Stock: Maintain high store standards and coordinate stock replenishment with the Branch Manager.
* Brand Representation: Uphold the company’s brand, values, and commitment to quality service.
* Compliance & Safety: Follow all policies and procedures, including health, safety, and environment considerations; ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry assurance schemes.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualities
* Excellent customer service skills and an appreciation for our customer base.
* Organised and able to work with initiative.
* Knowledge of Agriculture is essential.
* Experience of working in a retail environment.
* Proactive and practical problem solver.
* Flexible approach to work and willing to take on additional tasks/responsibilities.
* Team player with a genuine interest in helping others.
Desirable
* Full UK driving licence.
* AMTRA qualification (training can be provided to achieve this).
* IT literate with Microsoft applications and D365 experience (desired).
