Job Introduction
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Private Banking Manager to join the Clapham branch. You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a customer portfolio, the winning and on‑boarding of new customers through proactive business development activities, and the full responsibility for all aspects of customer relationships within the portfolio (excluding Regulated Mortgage activity). This includes preparation of credit applications, customer analysis, annual reviews, documentation completion, covenant compliance, and profitability.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop a portfolio of private banking customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.
* Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining the services and facilities offered.
* Demonstrate a sound understanding of, and an ability to work within, the Bank’s Credit Policy, ensuring lending decisions are within the discretion awarded by the Branch Manager.
* Interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings correctly, and structure transactions.
* Use the appropriate Bank systems to complete credit applications and annual reviews.
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, maintaining relationships with professional firms and introducers.
* Possess a demonstrable understanding of the products offered by Handelsbanken and a good understanding of competitor products, relevant industry, and market‑driven trends.
* Perform general administration: preparation of legal documentation for accounts, personal loans and mortgages, maintaining customer files (including CDD/AML requirements), preparing annual reviews, and making payments.
