We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team — someone passionate about exceptional ingredients, thoughtful cooking and leading service with calm confidence.
This role offers the opportunity to work within one of Cornwall’s most iconic luxury hotels while still maintaining balance outside the kitchen. With a 4-day working week and consistent 10am–10pm shifts, you’ll have the time and space to enjoy the lifestyle that comes with living and working on the Cornish coast.
Working closely with the Senior Sous Chefs and Head Chef, you’ll help lead a passionate brigade focused on creativity, sustainability and delivering unforgettable dining experiences using the very best seasonal and locally sourced produce.

What you’ll be doing
• Supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs in leading smooth, high-quality kitchen services
• Delivering beautifully executed dishes to a consistently exceptional standard
• Helping shape menus inspired by Cornwall’s finest seasonal produce and sustainable practices
• Leading and supporting junior chefs during service, creating a calm and professional kitchen culture
• Maintaining exceptional standards of food hygiene, organisation and kitchen safety
• Assisting with stock management, ordering and minimising waste through thoughtful kitchen practices
• Working collaboratively across the brigade to create memorable guest dining experiences
• Taking pride in every detail — from preparation to presentation
What we’re looking for
• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a quality-led kitchen
• Passion for refined food, seasonality and beautifully sourced ingredients
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Calm, organised and confident approach during service
• Genuine appreciation for luxury hospitality and guest experience
• Positive, supportive attitude and ability to lead by example
• Strong understanding of modern and classical cooking techniques
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification or above preferred
