We are working with a well-established secondary school in Bristol/South Glos seeking a committed and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a stable role within a supportive school community that places strong emphasis on inclusion, student wellbeing and high expectations for all learners.

No qualifications needed - full training provided.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important part in helping students access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

Your responsibilities may include:

1. Supporting students within mainstream lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

2. Providing 1:1 support for students with additional needs

3. Assisting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs

4. Helping to implement individual support plans and behaviour strategies

5. Promoting independence, engagement and positive learning behaviours

6. Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to monitor progress

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday during term time, and is intended as a long-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Candidate Requirements

12. Experience supporting young people, ideally within a school or youth setting

13. SEN experience or awareness is highly desirable

14. A calm, patient and consistent approach

15. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

16. A genuine interest in supporting young people’s development

Experience is not essential. If you are looking to start a career in education, training and ongoing support can be provided. This includes access to professional development and Team Teach training for suitable candidates.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
