The position is based at the Scottish Ambulance Service, Fleet Workshop facility, Glasgow City Workshop. You will work as part of a highly skilled and dedicated team and report to the Workshop Chargehand. The successful candidate may also be required to work from other Scottish Ambulance Service workshops on occasion.
Shift pattern: alternating early/late shifts. Hours: 05:45‑22:15 Mon‑Thur and 05:30‑18:00 Fri (subject to change in April 2026).

The Successful Candidate Will
* Be a qualified Vehicle Technician with experience in the maintenance and repair of cars and light commercial vehicles.
* Have undertaken an automotive apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or comparable qualification) or equivalent experience.
* Have experience operating in a demanding working environment with health and safety at the forefront.
* Be confident in delivering high‑quality vehicle and equipment support with minimal supervision to front‑line colleagues throughout the West Region.
* Have a sound knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.
* Have knowledge of electrical and tail‑lift repairs (advantageous).
* Be familiar with the use of internet and e‑mail (desirable).
* Hold a full driving licence with C1 entitlement or attain C1 entitlement within 12 months of appointment (support will be available).
This is a full‑time position (37 hours Monday‑Friday), reducing to 36 hours in April 2026. Occasional overtime, public holiday working and participation in a weekend rota may be required; all pay at the appropriate enhanced rate. If required to work at another workshop, a different shift pattern may apply.
