Role: QA Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (usually 8am-4pm, some flexibility may be required)

Job Description
This is a crucial role to ensure management of the site’s quality control/assurance activities to support the manufacture of one million units of frozen ready meals per week.
You will be responsible for building effective working relationships with cross functional teams and enforcing Inspired Global Cuisine requirements to ensure WiP and finished product meet specified quality, legality and safety standards.
To adhere to quality plans and procedures, examine products and materials, and verify that Company and customer compliance standards are being met.
To provide support to the Technical Manager, Hygiene Manager and Technical Services Supervisor to ensure departmental and site KPI’s are achieved.
Manage all aspects of QA/QC activities to ensure Company and customer compliance. This includes overall responsibility for:
* Finished product & WiP conformity monitoring and management
* Any WIP/finished product testing as required
* Non-conformance and food safety/quality incidents
* Concessions, shelf life extensions and waste reduction programmes
* Quality auditing and calibration programmes
* Play part in delivering departmental budget
* Any laboratory procedures and standards that may be implemented at a future date
* Effective management of non-conforming goods including follow up activities.
* Be actively involved in customer visits and third-party audits.
* Provide QA/QC support for the investigation and resolution of customer complaints in conjunction with cross functional teams to ensure we respond to our internal & external customers in a satisfactory manner and prevent recurrence of issues.
* Provide QA governance and support to Operational, NPD and Commercial teams in day to day activities including product launches.
* Work with Operational, engineering and hygiene teams to drive through improved quality and factory standards (GMP, listeria reduction, etc).
* FANC and concession trending and reporting. Establishing root cause from cross functional investigation and tracking corrective action.
* Environmental monitoring, compliance and trending.
* Carrying out mid and end of year reviews with direct repot and ensuring completion of one to one sessions with indirect reports at regular intervals throughout the year.
* Ensure key activities are validated and supported with documentary evidence including all CCPs.
* Planning and preparing the team for visits, launches and audits.
* Be actively involved in the HACCP programme.
* To plan and carry out internal annual audits on the Quality Management System, as set out in the BRC protocol, raise relevant non-conformances, follow up on outstanding actions and ensure all non-conformances are signed off in a timely manner.
* Complete assigned part of the site’s quality and food safety metrics on a monthly basis.
* Responsible for playing part in delivering departmental budget.
* Responsible for overseeing calibrations of QA/QC equipment and consumable items are readily available.
* To undertake traceability audits three monthly and recommend improvements to IGC traceability systems where appropriate.
* Oversee t-Scan (temperature monitoring system) for site. Ascertain root cause and close out any non-conformances.
* Successful completion of assigned project work.
* Deliver, operate and maintain all activities required to ensure food safety, quality, legality and integrity throughout all site production, storage and packaging operations, achieving this through your and your team’s work.
