Cleansing Operative Carryduff, £13.69 per hour ⏳ Contract Length: 52 Weeks ⏱️ Hours: 37 per week (5 days out of 6, Monday–Saturday) About the Role We are recruiting a dedicated Cleansing Operative (Scale 3) to join Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council’s Operational Services Team within their Household Recycling Centres. The successful candidate will support the delivery of an efficient refuse collection, street cleansing and amenity service across the area. This is a hands-on, active role suited to someone reliable, physically capable, and committed to high service standards. Key Responsibilities Carry out a full range of cleansing duties including litter picking, manual sweeping and removal of debris from public spaces. Support household and commercial refuse collection services, including bulky lifts and illegal dumping removal. Assist with winter response duties such as spreading salt and clearing snow when required. Complete daily paperwork accurately and report any changes to workload. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements, PPE rules and relevant legislation. Provide excellent customer service and deliver information when required. Attend any required training, briefings or meetings. Act as first point of contact for the crew, relaying instructions from supervisors.
