About Begin Again
Begin Again with Davina McCall is one of the UK’s most emotionally resonant podcast series - exploring transformation, resilience, and the freedom to start over at any stage of life. Through powerful weekly conversations with guests like Gillian Anderson, Rita Ora, and Mel Robbins, Davina uncovers the moments that redefine who we are and how we live. The show is more than a podcast - it’s a platform for meaningful storytelling, and we’re looking for a talented editor to help bring it to life on screen.
MISSION
As Video Editor for Begin Again, you’ll play a central role in crafting the visual identity of the show—from full-length episodes to short-form social content. You’ll work with multi-camera footage to tell emotionally rich, visually polished stories that connect with millions across YouTube and social platforms. While this is primarily a post-production role, you’ll also contribute during production days—helping to set up and operate cameras in the studio, and ensuring the footage you edit meets the standards you expect. You’ll bring both technical craft and creative instinct to a team that’s pushing the boundaries of what podcast video can be.
DAY-TO-DAY
* EDITING & POST-PRODUCTION
o Edit weekly podcast episodes using a 5-camera setup and two audio channels, shaping clear, dynamic, and emotionally compelling content for YouTube.
o Cut clips and short-form content for social platforms (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok), distilling the most powerful or thought-provoking moments from each episode.
o Assemble footage, incorporate motion graphics and music where needed, and deliver polished, high-quality outputs aligned with the visual tone of the show.
o Implement feedback from producers and leadership quickly and effectively to refine and elevate each edit.
PRODUCTION SUPPORT
* Support on-set production by operating cameras and contributing to the visual setup during shoots, working alongside the studio team.
* Help ensure that the footage captured aligns with editorial needs and visual standards for post-production.
* Collaborate with producers and talent during filming to anticipate editorial needs in the room.
* Capture and edit vlog-style behind-the-scenes footage during shoots to support promotional content for both long-form and social platforms.
CREATIVE INPUT
* Contribute ideas around framing, pacing, shot choices, and story flow to enhance the emotional impact of each edit.
* Stay informed about editing trends and evolving platform best practices—bringing fresh thinking to every project.
* Work closely with the wider creative and social teams to ensure consistency across formats and channels.
REQUIREMENTS
* Proven experience as a video editor, with strong multicam editing skills and a portfolio of work across YouTube and social media.
* Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with strong knowledge of codecs, colour, audio, and export formats.
* Experience operating cameras in a studio or shoot environment, and comfort working on set as part of a production team.
* Strong storytelling instincts—knowing how to build emotion, pace, and clarity through edit decisions.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to be hands-on across the content process, from capture to final delivery.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A natural interest in stories of personal growth, reinvention, and purpose-driven content is a plus.
