PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future. We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor/clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The Candidate
We are looking for a friendly, confident, dynamic and outgoing nurse for one of our Collection Teams based in Dundee. You will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be able to lead, manage and work within a team. You will be self‑motivated, proactive and an innovative individual with the ability to be flexible and react positively to ongoing changing demands and priorities. Knowledge of blood collection processes would be advantageous as you will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties. You must also be able to demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development within the competencies framework.
Location and Working Pattern
The post will be based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. Monday to Sunday, 30 hours per week. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
