What the job involves The position involves conducting in-depth assessments of children and families to determine levels of risk and need, while prioritising their welfare through timely safeguarding decisions. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with children, families, and partner agencies. Your responsibilities include producing outcome-focused reports and care plans, attending multi-agency meetings and court proceedings, and participating in audits and quality assurance activities. Compliance with statutory guidance and support for service development initiatives are also key aspects of the role. Skills Registered Social Worker with Social Work England Car driver Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, including safeguarding and assessment Strong knowledge of legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills Proven leadership, mentoring, and case management abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience in duty and assessment or “front door” services (desirable) Experience presenting cases in court (desirable) Knowledge of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements and early help services (desirable)
