The Opportunity
A well-established engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a permanent basis.
The role will support infrastructure and decommissioning works associated with Sellafield, operating within a highly regulated environment.
Projects are typically valued between £2m–£3m, forming part of a department with an annual turnover of approximately £10m.
This is a hybrid position, combining on-site presence, office-based work in Cockermouth, and some working from home.
Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of infrastructure projects (£2m–£3m value)

Cost planning, forecasting, and financial reporting
*
Subcontractor procurement, management, and valuation
*
Variations management and change control
*
Contract administration and commercial risk management
*
Client liaison and commercial negotiations
*
Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
*
Working within CEMAR contract management software
*
Supporting project delivery within a regulated and safety-critical environment
Requirements
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor (Senior level preferred)
*
Proven experience on large infrastructure projects
*
Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes
*
Experience using CEMAR software
*
Experience in regulated or decommissioning environments advantageous
*
M&E knowledge desirable
*
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
*
Full UK driving licence
Ideally located within approximately one hour of Cockermouth, although this is not essential for the right candidate.
