Salary: £32,199 – £34,876 per annum inclusive

Job Summary: We are looking to recruit trainee EMHPs for the Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST). This postgraduate‑level training position is based at Kings College London and includes delivering evidence‑based guided self‑help interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Successful candidates will study at an academic level, manage their own study load, and travel to London for lectures.
Main duties:
* Deliver guided self‑help interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety, depression, and/or behavioural difficulties.
* Support children and young people referred to the service using newly developed therapeutic skills.
* Attend training sessions at Kings College London and Hounslow MJST.
* Receive supervision and participate in professional development activities.
* Be prepared to begin work in early/mid‑January 2025.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Ability to study at degree level; proven record of previous academic attainment.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills at a minimum level 2.
* Knowledge of the educational system in England.
* Knowledge of child development, child wellbeing or mental health gained through academic study.
* Previous experience working with children and young people (desirable).
Skills & Competencies:
* Self‑motivated learner able to study independently and formulate progress towards learning objectives.
* Computer literate.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Team player with strong time‑management and organisational skills.
* Ability to travel to meet job requirements.
Personal qualities:
* Self‑motivated.
* Able to work in an inclusive, supportive environment.
* Trained to manage trauma and emotional difficulties sensitively.
* Physical fitness to meet role demands, with reasonable adjustments as required.
