Are you seeking a new leadership opportunity where you can shape inclusive practice, drive high-quality SEND provision, and make a lasting impact across a secondary school? This could be the ideal next step in your SEN career.

• Well-regarded secondary school based in Oxford
• SENCo to lead and develop whole-school SEND provision

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join a successful and inclusive secondary school in Oxford. This is a full-time, permanent position starting September 2026. The successful SENCo will play a key strategic role in leading SEND provision across KS3 & KS4, working closely with SLT, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.

The SENCo will oversee EHCPs, interventions, and staff training, ensuring all pupils with SEND are supported to achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious SENCo or an experienced SEND professional ready to step into a whole-school leadership role.

School Information

This well-established secondary school has a strong reputation for inclusion, positive behaviour, and high expectations for all students. The school benefits from a supportive senior leadership team and a clear commitment to inclusive education and staff development.

The SEND department is well-structured and resourced, with dedicated support staff and strong links to external professionals. Staff describe the school as collaborative, pupil-centred, and highly supportive.

Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified SENCo with experience in a secondary school setting
• NASENCo qualification (or willingness to complete)
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
• Ability to lead, support, and train staff to deliver inclusive practice

Application

To be considered for this SENCo position, please forward your CV as soon as possible.
