Real Estate Associate / Senior Associate – Renewables (Scotland)
Edinburgh or Glasgow | Permanent
A leading UK law firm with a strong presence in the Scottish market is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate to join its top-ranked Real Estate team, focusing on renewable energy transactions.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to join a market-leading practice involved in some of the most significant and innovative renewable energy projects across Scotland and beyond. The role offers exposure to a wide range of technologies including onshore and offshore wind, hydro, tidal, solar, biomass, and battery storage.
You’ll work closely with developers, landowners, investors, and lenders, often in collaboration with major London firms. The team is known for its involvement in high-profile, large-scale projects and offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong support for career development.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on property aspects of renewable energy projects (consented, under development, and operational).
* Conduct due diligence and prepare/negotiating certificates of title.
* Draft and negotiate leases, options, and other transactional documents.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel on complex deals.
* Supervise junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
* Engage in business development and client relationship management.
About You
* 4+ years PQE in a property-related legal role.
* Proven experience in renewable energy transactions.
* Strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage complex transactions and competing priorities.
* Commercial awareness and a proactive, client-focused mindset.
* Keen interest in business development and innovation in the renewables sector.
