Key roles include, but not limited to:
* Coordinate and oversee the day‑to‑day livestock and farm operations.
* Plan, implement, and manage grazing and forage programmes to optimise herd performance.
* Maintain yard, field, and farm infrastructure to a high operational and safety standard.
* Carry out foot trimming for the suckler herd.
* Manage all aspects of calving, including monitoring, assistance, and post‑calving care.
* Undertake artificial insemination (AI) in line with breeding plans.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date herd records, including performance and health data.
* Manage feed stores and silage clamps, ensuring correct storage, quality, and stock control.
* Proactively promote and maintain high standards of Health and Safety across the farms, taking initiative to resolve or escalate any non‑compliance.
* Fully utilise farm equipment and infrastructure to maximise operational efficiency and financial return.
* Work collaboratively with the wider farm team, including the Vet, to develop and implement herd health plans and ensure accurate records for veterinary medicines and withdrawal periods.
* Maintain a high standard of estate appearance, identifying and delivering continuous improvements where possible.
* Ensure that all activities are conducted in a manner that protects and enhances the reputation of the Dyson brand.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development by undertaking training as required.
Requirements
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent herd husbandry skills with an understanding of cow health
* Capable of foot trimming and AI highly desirable
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of modern agricultural machinery
* (Desirable) Holds an up to date certificate for telescopic and counterbalance forklift and ATV
* User of Microsoft Office
* Professional manner when dealing with work colleagues, visitors and the general public
* Proactive and flexible approach to work
* Willing to take responsibility and ownership for tasks as well as the herd.
* Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work
* Ability to work under own initiative but also as part of a multifunctional team
* Demonstrate a proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety
