About thisopportunity

We’re looking for passionate, driven SocialWorkers to join our Learning Disability, Transition and AutismTeam, part of the Westmorland and Furness Council’s Adult SocialCare Service.

This role will include assessing the needsand outcomes of people with a learning disability, young peoplemoving into adulthood and people with autism. Our focus is toprovide a person-centred approach, working with individuals toachieve positive outcomes and to continuously promote apreventative and strength-based approach in line with theCouncil’s vision and values.

The role will also involve supportingindividuals whose needs may present as complex and who requireeffective risk management planning, to enhance their quality oflife. You will require the ability to effectively plan and showinnovation in practice, and in demonstrating good communicationskills when responding to the needs of the individuals we supportand their carers, as well as our internal and externalpartners.

You willneed a strong knowledge and understanding of relevant nationallegislation and professional standards, as well as organisationalgovernance frameworks.

You will need an accredited Social WorkerDegree and have the relevant professional registration.
