We are working with a leading consultancy that provides project controls and commercial support across major infrastructure projects in the UK. They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Site & Facilities team and support delivery across a range of projects, from tender and design through to construction, testing, and commissioning.
This is a full-time role with a flexible working arrangement: typically 3-4 days on site and 1-2 days working from home. You’ll enjoy a supportive, collaborative environment and the chance to work on exciting, high-profile infrastructure programmes. As part of the team, you’ll support Project Leaders, contribute to the delivery of defined project scope, and continue to develop your own skills and expertise.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Quantity Surveyor, no two days are the same. You’ll work across multiple live projects, supporting the full project lifecycle and contributing to tender programmes. Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing assigned project scope, from tendering through to delivery and commissioning
Preparing and evaluating tender documents, negotiating contracts, and ensuring value for money
Overseeing contractual aspects of projects, including managing changes and variations
Monitoring project costs and expenditures to keep budgets on track
Identifying financial risks and supporting strategies to mitigate them
Conducting valuations and certifying payments to contractors and suppliers
Preparing final accounts and reconciling variations
Providing commercial advice to project teams on cost-effective solutions, value engineering, and sustainable construction practices
Supporting other project control activities such as planning, progress measurement, earned value, and change control
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a proactive, forward-thinking professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You’ll have:
At least 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within construction, civil engineering, or related sectors
Strong experience in commercial and cost management, ideally including NEC3/4 contracts and CEMAR systems
Excellent numeracy, finance, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Experience producing dashboards and data visualisations (strong Excel competence required)
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (HNC/HND may also be considered)
Membership or willingness to pursue membership of professional bodies such as RICS, AcostE, CIOB, or APM
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
