We typically work full time in the office to support the team, some flexibility to work from home may be offered. Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours / 5 days per week, Mon to Fri. 09.00 – 17.30 with lunch taken 13.00 – 14.00. We may consider alternative work patterns. Due to current resource levels this will need to be a minimum of 30 hours / 4 days per week. Job Summary Trainee Accountants (Audit) will work alongside experienced audit professionals to learn the required procedures needed for an audit career whilst actively pursuing professional qualification and development opportunities to enhance your career. Trainees will be studying towards either an ACA or AAT qualification having either recently graduated or completed A Levels. Our ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for: • Assisting with the completion of assigned audit engagements within the office and at client premises. Depending on assigned engagement, you will report to either the Audit Senior or Manager. • Managing your own daily activities assigned to assist the Audit Senior during an engagement. • Communicating identified issues with Audit Senior or Manager to ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner. • Conduct assigned audit engagements as specified within the audit plan • Identifies and communicate issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk. • Complete audit programs and conduct testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives • Obtain and review evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well documented. • Always ensure adherence to all applicable department procedures and professional standards. • Communicates to audit team and clients in a manner that is clear and concise ensuring high quality, timely, accurate and efficient results. • Ensure adequate focus on personal professional growth relevant to taking on more challenging assignments, in line with standard audit career progression. • Keep Audit Manager informed of work in progress. • Perform other related ad hoc duties as assigned. • Compliance oriented with strong attention to detail. • Providing support and research on policies and procedures in line with legal requirements. • Keeping up to date with current legislation and complying with rules relating to post qualification education Skills & Knowledge • Minimum 1-year practical experience. Active studier. • High level of integrity and ethical approach to work. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Well organised with the ability to work accurately under pressure and manage work deadlines. • Keen eye for detail. • High level of logical problem-solving skills. • Strong team working skills. • Technically proficient in IT, highly competent in Excel and able to use online accounting software.
