About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Ipswich North East Social Care Team, based in Ipswich. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a requirement to attend the office at least three days per week.
You will play a key role in supporting high-quality frontline practice, managing complex cases, and providing oversight and guidance to less experienced staff, working closely with the Team Manager.
Senior SW in a social care team, dealing with assessments, Child in Need and Child Protection. The role is a mix of duty and assessment work alongside longer-term work.
Responsibilities
* Undertake Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) assessments
* Develop and review Child in Need (CIN) plans and Child Protection (CP) plans
* Manage complex and high-risk cases to ensure effective safeguarding outcomes
* Support the Team Manager with staff supervision, mentoring, and case oversight
* Contribute to maintaining high professional standards and quality assurance within the team
* Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals
