Job Overview
We are currently seeking compassionate, responsible, and reliable Part-Time Passenger Assistants to support the daily transport of children with special educational needs (SEN) to and from schools and colleges in a safe, supportive, and friendly manner. These important roles are ideal for individuals with experience in childcare, school environments, or support work who have a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. As a Passenger Assistant, you will work closely with a designated driver, assisting children throughout their journeys to ensure their wellbeing, safety, and comfort at all times. You will travel in fully equipped company supplied vehicles, which may include cars, MPVs, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and larger 8-seater or 16-seater minibuses. You will be responsible for helping children board and exit the vehicle, securing wheelchairs or harnesses as needed, and offering reassurance especially to those who may feel anxious or require additional support.
You must be friendly, calm under pressure, and able to engage with children in a way that is caring and respectful, while maintaining professional communication with parents, carers, and school staff. Reliability and punctuality are essential, as many families and schools depend on the consistency of this service. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the United Kingdom for at least five years. An enhanced DBS check is highly beneficial; however, we are able to assist suitable candidates with the application process. Comprehensive training will be provided, including Safeguarding, PATS, First Aid, and Epilepsy Awareness. Whether you are looking for a regular route or prefer flexible work, multiple opportunities are available to suit your schedule.
