The Opportunity:
As Director of Architecture, you will join the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic, design, and operational direction of the practice. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams on high-profile projects, oversee client relationships, contribute to business development, and mentor emerging talent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex projects across multiple sectors
* Act as a key client liaison, ensuring high standards of service and delivery
* Provide strategic input into business growth, resourcing, and project pipeline
* Manage and mentor senior architects, associates, and design teams
* Champion design quality, sustainability, and technical excellence
* Collaborate with internal directors across disciplines to align commercial and creative objectives
* Represent the practice at industry events, competitions, and public consultations
Requirements:
* ARB registered Architect with significant post-qualification experience
* Proven leadership within an AJ100 or similarly scaled architecture practice
* Strong portfolio of delivered projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, or healthcare
* Skilled in client engagement, project leadership, and business development
* Ability to inspire, manage and mentor teams effectively
* Deep understanding of UK planning, building regulations, and procurement processes
