Job Description
3. Manage rent accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
4. Reconcile rent accounts and investigate any discrepancies effectively.
5. Utilise Orchard system to monitor monthly and weekly debit runs
6. Prepare and submit rent reports to senior management in a timely manner.
7. Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to rent income and expenditure.
8. Assist with the compilation of annual service charge and sinking fund.
9. Collaborate with other departments to resolve tenant account queries.
10. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organisational policies.
11. Support the Finance team with ad hoc duties as required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Rent Accountant should have:
12. Relevant qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
13. Proficiency in Orchard, SUN Accounts, and Vision Excel.
14. Experience in designing and implementing financial controls.
15. Strong technical knowledge of rent accounting principles within the social housing sector.
16. A track record of working effectively within a finance team.
17. Social housing rent and service charge accounting management, including write-offs
18. Attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
19. Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
