About the Role
Achieving for Children is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Duty and Assessment team on a temporary basis, covering maternity/paternity leave.
This is a frontline role where you will be responsible for undertaking assessments, managing caseloads, and ensuring timely interventions to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out duty and assessment work, including initial assessments and Section 47 enquiries
* Manage a varied caseload, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local procedures
* Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams
* Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations and reports for decision-making panels and courts
* Contribute to service improvement and uphold professional standards
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England
* Proven experience in duty and assessment or similar frontline social work roles
* Access to a car and a valid driver’s licence (essential)
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and best practice
* Ability to work under pressure, manage complex cases, and deliver high-quality outcomes
