ABOUT YOU
As an Analyst, you will have strong laboratory skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a thorough understanding of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards. You will be confident in performing both basic and advanced sample testing techniques, maintaining precise records, and working collaboratively with your team.
Required skills and experience:
Proven experience in sample preparation and testing within a lab environment
Ability to work to strict procedures and standards (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Good communication skills and ability to report operational and QHSE issues effectively
Competency in using laboratory equipment, calibration, and maintenance
Ability to manage stock, consumables, and documentation accurately
Relevant qualifications (A/AS/O Levels in a related subject)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As part of the West Thurrock Laboratory team, you will contribute directly to delivering timely and reliable testing results. You will perform sample analysis, produce reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives under the guidance of Team Leaders and Laboratory Supervisors. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to develop your expertise within a supportive and compliance-driven environment.
Key activities:
Log-in, prepare, and analyse samples according to defined protocols
Produce detailed reports and ensure timely communication of results
Maintain laboratory equipment, organise calibration and repairs
Monitor and manage stock levels and consumables
Support Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, including accident reporting and risk assessments
Provide cover for Shift Team Leaders as needed
Collaborate on method development and continuous improvement activities
