Project Manager, Highways - Oxfordshire Area
Are you an experienced Project Manager ready to lead a major highways project? We're looking for a dynamic leader to join our team in Oxfordshire and manage the delivery of a transformative, multi-million-pound program of works.
The Project
This is a £350 million program that includes three major schemes:
A £50 million bypass, currently in the design and build phase.
A complex £160 million river crossing.
A significant embankment and bridge structure built over a railway and river, linking to the new bypass.
This is more than just a highways project; it's a key part of a new strategic development hub for the region, with plans for new housing and employment.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of these schemes from start to finish. Your key duties will include:
Project Leadership: Overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Team Management: Leading and mentoring the site team, including Senior Engineers, to ensure high performance and adherence to project goals.
Stakeholder Management: Liaising with the council, designers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure project alignment and communication.
On-site Oversight: Driving the transition from the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase to on-site construction, planned to begin in early 2026.
Risk and Quality Control: Identifying and mitigating project risks, while ensuring all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and commercial viability.
Budget & Commercial Control: Managing the project budget, tracking costs, and reporting on financial performance.
About You
You are a results-oriented Project Manager with a proven track record on large-scale infrastructure or highways projects. You have strong commercial acumen, and you're skilled at overcoming challenges. You possess excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating teams and engaging with stakeholders.
If you're ready to take ownership of these projects and make a lasting impact on the region's future, we want to hear from you.
