Life Skills Officer in Supported Accommodation
As a Life Skills Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and personal development of children in our care. You will provide compassionate, individualised support, creating a nurturing and stable home environment where they feel valued and empowered.
Working in partnership with each young person and their Personal Advisor, you’ll help them develop essential independence skills, guiding them toward successful, fulfilling lives within their own homes and communities.
We’re looking for someone who blends emotional warmth with sharp instincts and structure. You’ll walk alongside young people as they learn how to budget, cook, make decisions, and build their future—with you cheering them on every step of the way.
What you’ll be doing
1. Supporting young people to develop vital independent living skills
2. Building relationships that offer emotional safety and trust
3. Helping young people engage with education, employment, or training (EET)
4. Delivering structured, creative life skills sessions tailored to individual needs
*The nature of this role means that you will work on a rota basis covering evenings and weekends routinely –with working patterns covering 09:00am - 17:00pm pm - 20:00pm One weekend in four.

7. References must cover the last 3 years, any reasons for gaps should be detailed in your enhanced reference form. Your references will only be requested if you are offered and have accepted a position
Please note: This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at a level appropriate to the post. It is a contractual and essential requirement that the successful candidate is registered with the DBS Update Service. You have 30 calendar days from the "date of issue" printed on your standard or enhanced DBS certificate to register for the DBS Update Service using the certificate number.
