The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual School Adviser to join our Virtual School. The Virtual School is responsible for ensuring that all Children in Care have access to high-quality education, regularly monitored through the termly PEP process.
In this role, you will:
1. Attend the termly PEP meetings for Children in Care, ensuring a strong, positive contribution from Children's Social Care and school colleagues.
2. Ensure that the right interventions are in place and approve the Pupil Premium Plus spend to further raise outcomes for Children in Care.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in termly PEP meetings.
* Provide high challenge to schools and provisions.
* Deliver training and support for trauma awareness.
* Input into statutory plans such as EHCPs.
* Contribute positively to the Virtual School team.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or alternative suitable travel arrangements, are essential.
This role falls into the category of Flexible Worker, which means you can expect to work:
1. 2-3 days in the office.
2. Both from home and the office, depending on the task.
Training is provided to help balance work-life and manage time effectively, emphasizing communication for team touchpoints and planning in-office days for collaboration.
About You
We are looking for someone passionate about education outcomes for Children in Care, with the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria
* QTS qualification.
* Experience teaching at the relevant key stage.
* Experience with Virtual Schools or working with Designated Teachers.
* Experience in pastoral work or with vulnerable children.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with trauma.
* Ability to deliver training to school colleagues.
