Job Description
* To assist with the preparation and delivery of projects and activities to Underground Lights members.
* To assist with administration and development of Underground Lights.
Hours
* 7 hours per week Autumn Term 2025 and Summer and Spring Term 2025) 3 x 12 week terms.
* Breakdown of hours: 6hours to be worked on Fridays when our drama workshops take place. 1hour to be worked as agreed.
Salary
* £13.26ph (equating to Band 5 on the NJC scale)
Interview
* Afternoon of Friday 5th September in person at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry
* Please note: applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, and we cannot offer visa sponsorship
Job Requirements
Essential:
* Interest in the area of drama/performing arts.
* Experience of participating in drama/performing arts groups.
* Experience of working/volunteering with people who have experienced homelessness or mental health issues.
* An understanding of the barriers preventing adults from learning and participating in groups and ideas about how to overcome these.
* Good communication skills (in writing and in person).
* Good administrative and organisational skills.
* Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail etc.
* Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, agreeing regular working hours with the Artistic Director/CEO.
* Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, safeguarding procedures.
* Commitment to Underground Lights’ values and aims.
Desirable
* Experience of movement facilitation
* Familiarity of social media
* Teaching qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education/Training) or willingness to work towards.
* Personal experience of homelessness or mental health issues
Job Responsibilities
* To work with the Drama Facilitator and Artistic Director/CEO to assist with practical preparations for UL activities and projects (including drama workshops, theatre trips etc.).
* To assist with (and take responsibility for elements of) practical activities and projects (e.g., through supported delivery of group exercises/discussions, organising theatre trips etc.)
* To support end of term performances of member work.
* To undertake administrative duties as required in order to further the organisational aims and development of Underground Lights and its activities.
* To actively promote safeguarding, following all policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all members and other staff and volunteers.
* To ensure that any safeguarding concerns are reported in line with Underground Lights’ procedures.
* To attend relevant meetings and training as necessary.
* To understand and promote Underground Lights’ values and aims.
