Prospero Teaching are looking for dedicated Tutors to support children and young people aged 5-18 across Southampton and surrounding areas. These learners are at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX) and need tailored, 1:1 support to thrive both academically and emotionally.
As a Tutor you will:

o Deliver Maths and English sessions tailored to individual needs
o Support learners in developing positive relationships and de-escalation strategies
o Help build confidence, routine, and a love for learning
o Work in homes, community settings, or alternative provision spaces
About you:

# Tutors, teachers, mentors, TAs, Cover Supervisors, or youth workers with experience supporting young people
# Strong communication and behaviour management skills
# A calm, consistent, and encouraging approach
# Ability to work independently and adapt to different learning styles
Position - AP TutorContract or position start date - ASAPContract or position end date (if applicable) - N/AFull time/part-time - Opportunities for bothHours - 12 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time with additional tuition opportunities
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
+ Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide references upon request
* Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
