Team / department
The Data Management team is part of the Data Team which works very closely with the Front Office and is the centre of data management, data quality and control and it has direct responsibility over the development and maintenance of EDF Trading’s datasets.
Position purpose
The Data Management team is looking for a Data Governance Senior Analyst to work with the Data Governance and Market Data Manager and the product teams on Data Governance artefacts (e.g. Data Domain Model and Metadata Management, Data Ownership, Data Catalogue, Data Quality, Access Controls, etc.). In particular, to own the maintenance and continued enrichment of metadata, acting as the control point to ensure quality of metadata stored.
The Data Governance Senior Analyst is expected to have some experience of working with data governance frameworks and tools.
This is a hands-on role that additionally requires definition and documentation of data processes involved, guidelines, procedures and material for the Data Governance Forums. It requires understanding of data processes, as well as willingness to learn about new technologies and data tools.
Main responsibilities
1. Own and manage the metadata enrichment process flows, working with stakeholders to ensure quality of metadata stored
2. Capability to understand the data, by analysing and documenting its logical model
3. Support the data products and projects in Data Governance topics (e.g. metadata, Master Data, Data Quality, accesses and permissions, etc.)
4. Define and document policies, procedures and operational standards
5. Support the evolution of the Data Domain Model and keep it updated, by liaising with the business and the Data Team
6. Support the onboarding process of Data Owners/Key Stakeholders per Domain
7. Prepare the material and take minutes on Data Governance Forums (e.g. Data Management Committee)
8. Define new data processes and refine existing ones to make them more efficient, and engage with the business to identify areas of improvement
9. Requirements’ gathering / creating Terms of Reference (ToR) for data products/use cases

Required Skills and Experience
10. Understanding and experience with Data Governance topics (i.e. metadata, Data Domain Model, data ownership, data access, Data Quality, Master Data, data-related policies, Data Governance Forums, etc.)
11. Experience with data analysis and data modelling (hands-on experience with conceptual, logical and physical data models)
12. Experience with requirements gathering (i.e. interaction with business users, technical developers), technical and functional specifications, as well as with the definition of ToR for data products / use cases
13. Experience with Data tools (e.g. Data Catalogue)
14. Knowledge on SQL databases
15. Taking ownership of any issues that come up and facilitates their resolution quickly using their own initiative while managing expectations
16. Able to multitask, switch focus and prioritise own tasks being comfortable to work under pressure with demanding front office users
17. Interest in energy trading and willingness to work across the business on understanding the needs of different teams
Desirable Skills and Experience
18. Experience with Data Quality tools
19. Experience with Data Visualisation software to create and maintain dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
20. Experience with Alteryx or Python
21. Experience working with relational and non-relational database technologies
22. Interest in the latest technologies and automation coupled with a curiosity to research and innovate on new approaches
Hours of work:
8.30am – 5.30pm / 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
