PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £42,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

EXTEND
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Sport Scotland serves audiences across digital, television and radio covering football, rugby and a wide range of other sporting events and personalities. Sportscene covers Scottish football, and then some. Premiership, SWPL, Championship, Scottish Cup, European Qualifiers and Scotland internationals with live, highlights and analysis. The role will involve reporting to the Assistant Editor for Television. You will not only be working in television sport and be responsible for delivering content for the various Sportscene programmes – but be a key member on our original digital video team delivering content for online and social media.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
We are looking for an Assistant Producer to join the team at a time of increased TV sport programming including live Scotland internationals, Scottish Cup and SPFL Championship coverage, Scottish Premiership & SWPL highlights. With ever growing digital demands we need someone flexible enough to work across TV, online and social media. BBC Sport Scotland really is at the forefront of sports production and we want someone to come in and hit the ground running alongside our already creative driven, talented sports team.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Ability to offer new and fresh ways of delivering content; both editorial and colour-based with a multi-platform approach.
* Edit match highlights in a fast turnaround environment across our SPFL & SWPL coverage.
* Generate fresh, modern ideas for informative sports programmes/features.
* To watch and digitally log accurately sporting action, identifying what is important or useful; either as pre-recorded material, or live at Pacific Quay Glasgow.
* Coordinate the VT area - replays and analysis - at Pacific Quay or on live Outside Broadcasts and work closely with, and direct, EVS operatives.
* Knowledge and ability to use editing software – Avid Newscutter/Media Composer, Avid Assist/Media Manager desirable.
* Self-shooting ability also desirable.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* In depth knowledge of Sport. In particular, Scottish football.
* Experience in creating multi-platform content and packages in both long and short form.
* Live TV experience – on both studio based programmes and outside broadcasts.
* Knowledge of Avid editing systems; newscutter and assist.
* Ability to self-shoot desirable.
